I called number on website but nobody picked up. I then called the .www site who gave me the Bishop name/number as my family needed help. My mother, who was vested passed away and we needed someone to dress her in her Temple garments. My sister and I are not members and had no clue. I left a voice mail message to have a call back but one wasn't received. I drove by as online site said open until 9pm but at 2pm nobody was there. Called Choctaw with no answer. Same with Edmond with nobody at church. It's sad that we had to get family in Utah to make arrangements for the vestments clothing as that is where she will be buried. Shame on you. It is being brought to their Bishops attention.

This church has done more for me than any other organization in my life. The leadership here is volunteer and always top-quality. The building is always clean and Sunday services are open to all. I've been a member of this specific church for 18 years and never once had a bad experience. If you wish to learn about Jesus Christ and be molded into a huge family, then come to this church.

My experience with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints cannot be fully described in a review. I can tell you a little about it though. I have attended the Midwest City ward of the LDS church since I was 5 years old. I'm 48 now. The "church" and the "gospel of Jesus Christ" are not the same things. The gospel is what Jesus taught and what He wants us to learn and live. The church is the "tool" that Heavenly Father uses to spread and teach the gospel. If you go into our church on a Sunday you will not find flashing bright colorful lights and bands playing loud music. You won't find coffee bars and free doughnuts or raffle prizes held for people who are visiting for the first time. No big screens where you can see the speaker up close. No intricate sound systems. No video games or pool tables.
You will hear soft music and feel a quiet reverence where the Holy Ghost can testify to your mind and your heart of the truths that are taught there. You will hear the simple testimonies of ordinary people who's lives were changed through those whisperings of the Spirit. You might hear a grateful testimony of a woman who was falling into an alcohol addiction and about to be divorced. Her family was being torn apart until she answered a knock at her door one day and invited two young missionaries in to talk to her. You'll hear how the gospel of Jesus Christ changed her life for all eternity. You'll hear how her family is strong and only becoming stronger and they are happy.
You might hear a tearful testimony of an elderly man who just lost his wife, give so much thanks and gratitude to the Lord for all he had been given in this life.
I owe all that I have in this world, and all that I will ever have or be, to my Father in Heaven and it was through this church that I was able to have the knowledge of Him and His Son, Jesus Christ, that I have. This gospel has guided me through my whole life. I read the review from the lady who was trying to get help when her dear mother passed away and I know that no one would have ignored her call. It had to be unintentionally overlooked somehow. The people that I know from our ward would have jumped at a chance to help her through that most difficult time. What a lot of people don't know is that unlike a lot of churches, our church is not run like a business. We do not have paid clergy or paid staff. It is 100% volunteer. We do not pass a plate around on Sundays (or any day, as paying tithing is a private thing). So the people who work in our churches (bishops, teachers . . .ect.) usually have full time jobs they work at to support their families and they do their service to the church (to God) on their off time. Because of that, the church is not staffed everyday. Our bishop is usually there certain evenings and anytime activities are going on. Sundays too of course. As a member of this ward, I really am sorry that Ms. Thompson had such a hard time getting in touch with our bishop. He is a really awesome man who really loves the Lord and would jump at a chance to serve anyone in need. If you get a chance to stop in, please do. It is a place where you can learn eternal truths. 10 am Sunday.Added September 19, 2016 by Ann Lolofie - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The love that I have for this gospel and church cannot be explained through any amount of characters. The only way for one to fully understand the peace and love and hopefulness and happiness that this gospel can bring to ones life is to check it out and decide for themselves.
